offer a wide variety of classes and educational events to
help improve the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s
disease, their families and healthcare professionals throughout

The Maine Parkinson Society will hold the fifth annual “Homes
for Hope” house tour on Saturday, June 16, 2007 from
10 AM to 2 PM. Five
houses located in the Falmouth area will be open for viewing between the hours
of 10 AM to 2 PM. Tickets, available for a $20 donation;
will be in the form of a booklet which will contain a picture of each house,
a description of the property, and a map showing its location. People may visit
the homes in the order of their choice. Booklets are available at many places
throughout the community. Validation Stickers will be affixed to the booklet
when your $20 donation has been made at the first house you visit. Proceeds from
the event will go toward providing much needed services for people in Maine living
with Parkinson Disease. The feature house will be an 1810 Restored Farm House
and Barn…Beautiful

Join us for Maine Parkinson Society’s fourth annual An
Evening of Hope auction on Friday, November 2, 2007 at The
Woodlands Club in Falmouth from 5:30
to 9:00 pm.The evening will
begin with a silent auction and end with a live auction led
by auctioneer Tom Saturley. Also included will be hor d’oeuvres
and live music. Our annual auction event raises funds to help people in Maine
with Parkinson’s disease. Watch here for more information

You don’t have to face them alone. Designed to provide
information and support this program is a must for recently diagnosed
Parkinson’s patients, their caregivers, family and friends. FREE

Caring
for People with Parkinson’s Disease
Do you wish you knew more about Parkinson’s disease so
that you are better equipped to care for your loved one? Set
It in Motion is designed so you feel better equipped to care
for someone with Parkinson’s disease. This program is also
beneficial for respite care workers, support group leaders, social
workers, nurses aides, certified nursing assistants, emergency
response workers, and others who care for people with Parkinson’s
disease.
Parkinson’s Support Group Leader Training
The Parkinson’s Information & Referral Center is devoted
to cultivating new and preserve existing Parkinson’s support
groups. Even if you are a new or seasoned leader, there is something
here for everyone. Our goal is to help you lead a successful
group! FREE
Annual Parkinson’s
Awareness Day
April is World Parkinson’s Disease Awareness month, the
MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers with the Maine Chapter
of the American Parkinson Disease Association and the Maine Parkinson
Society are pleased to provide an educational opportunity for
people who are touched by Parkinson’s disease, including
patients, care providers, family members and health care professionals.

MEETINGS
CAPITOL AREA – Augusta & Waterville
– Capitol Meetings are held on alternate months at the
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on 209 Eastern Avenue in Augusta
and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on 60 Eustis Parkway in
Waterville on the second Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM. Contact

are held at Acadia Hospital, 268 Stillwater Avenue, on the

do have areas of the state that do not have any nearby support
groups. If you or someone you know is interested in helping
